CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER AND MARSHMALLOW PRETZELS INGREDIENTS

Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Pretzels raw ingredients that are labeled

You’ll need:

  • 12 mini pretzels
  • 6 marshmallows, halved
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 teaspoon corn oil
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons corn oil
  • Snowflake sprinkles

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

TOPPINGS: If you are making these during the holiday season, snowflake sprinkles are where it’s at but at any other time of the year, different colors and shapes of sprinkles work just as well in this easy recipe.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: If you’d like your treats to have a white coating, you can substitute the semisweet chocolate chips for white chocolate chips in an equal amount.

HOW TO MAKE THIS CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER AND MARSHMALLOW PRETZELS RECIPE

STEP ONE: Set a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to catch any chocolate drips.

PRO TIP:

Using the cooling rack will allow any excess chocolate to drip through and not pool around the base of the pretzels.

STEP TWO: Lay the pretzels on top of the rack and then place half of a marshmallow on each pretzel.

PRO TIP:

To easily cut marshmallows in half, very lightly coat scissors or a knife with cooking spray so that the marshmallow doesn’t stick to them.

STEP THREE: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt peanut butter chips and 1 teaspoon of corn oil in the microwave in 20-second increments, stirring between each increment.

HOW TO SERVE

These peanut butter pretzels are a fun idea for a kids’ party or holiday gift-giving. They’d be a cute addition to a gift box along with our gingerbread truffles or Christmas pretzel hugs, too!

STORAGE

IN THE FRIDGE/ON THE COUNTER: You should store these peanut butter chocolate pretzels in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to keep them fresh and looking good. Room temperature is fine for these fun snacks or in the fridge will ensure that it doesn’t get too warm for the chocolate.

IN THE FREEZER: These don’t tend to freeze very well as the pretzels will get soft so we would recommend making them fresh.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to use creamy peanut butter or can I use crunchy peanut butter for this recipe?

Either type of peanut butter would be delicious in this recipe. The crunch of the peanut butter would match the crunch of the pretzels nicely.

Can I freeze these treats?

We do not recommend freezing these treats as the pretzels will get soggy once they are thawed.

Can I use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for the coating?

Any flavor of chocolate would be yummy for these treats. Substitute white chocolate chips for semi-sweet in a 1:1 ratio.
