Review RecipeDirty Dr Pepper

What does a Dirty Dr Pepper taste like? Imagine that signature cherry cola flavor—bold, bubbly, and slightly spiced—but rounded out with just the right kick of tropical coconut and lime. The coconut doesn’t overpower—it softens the soda in a way that feels almost like a dessert.
Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredient Notes
We recommend fresh lime juice, not bottled: Bottled lime tends to taste dull and sometimes bitter.
Diet or Zero Dr Pepper work just fine—especially since the lime and coconut still bring all the flavor.
Use cold soda—not room temp. Room-temperature soda melts the ice faster and flattens the fizz.
Nugget ice gives you the real “soda shop” texture—it chills the drink quickly and gives just the right dilution as it melts. Chick-fil-A, Zaxby’s, and some Sonic locations sell bags of it.
How To Make
Layering for visual drama: Build with ice > lime > soda > creamer, so the creamy swirl floats beautifully and mixes gradually as you sip.

Serving Suggestions
Stir once or twice just to marble the drink. Or serve it unstirred for a pretty layered look—the flavors will mix as you sip.
Serve immediately: The longer it sits, the flatter it gets. This drink is all about that cold, fizzy, just-mixed magic. Make it, sip it, enjoy.
Want to batch it for a party? Mix the lime juice and soda in a pitcher, then pour into individual glasses of ice and finish with creamer for that signature swirl.
Make it your way:
- Want it lighter? Use two tablespoons of creamer instead of four.
- Want it extra coconutty? Add a drop of coconut extract.
- Want it boozy? A splash of coconut rum makes a fun adult twist.
- Want it frozen? Blend everything with ice for a slushy version.

Dirty Dr Pepper
Ingredients
- 1 cup ice, nugget ice preferred
- 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lime juice, or a squeeze of juice from a small wedge of lime
- 1 cup Dr Pepper soda, chilled
- 4 tablespoons Coconut Creme non-dairy coffee creamer, Coffee Mate brand used
- Lime circle, optional garnish for edge of glass (⅛ to ¼ inch thick)
Instructions
- Fill a 16 ounce sized glass with ice and top with the fresh squeezed lime juice.
- Slowly pour in the chilled Dr Pepper soda into the glass being careful not to create too many foamy bubbles on top. Tilting the glass on a slight angle as you pour, then gradually standing the glass back upright when done pouring in the soda, helps to prevent lots of foam from forming as you pour the soda into the glass.
- Pour the coconut creme non-dairy coffee creamer into the glass and stir gently to combine.
- Garnish the rim of the glass with a single fresh lime circle, if desired and serve with a straw.
Notes
- If you do not want to use a non-dairy coconut creme flavored coffee creamer, you can substitute 2 tablespoons half&half creamer and add 1 tablespoon coconut flavored syrup (Torani brand or DaVinci brand) for drinks. You can find the coconut flavored syrup online or in some grocery stores. These syrup brands are made especially for use to add flavor to hot or cold drinks and cocktails.
- You can certainly reduce the amount of coconut creme flavored coffee creamer, by a tablespoon or two if desired, according to your taste preferences.
- You can certainly use diet Dr Pepper if desired to cut some of the calories from the soda in this drink.
- Fresh squeezed lime juice yields the best flavor when making this drink.
- Some fast food chain restaurants (such as Sonic or Chick-fil-A) will sell bags of their nugget ice if asked. If you can not find nugget ice cubes, you can substitute with crushed ice from an ice machine.
