Need a secret weapon to get those chores done? Cold milk and warm cake. My boys will fly through their chores with a reward bribe of something yummy like that. Heck, I’ll fly through my chores for that reward! The trouble is, I don’t usually have time for baking these days. But this Banana Cake is extra-easy and extra-good when it’s served with banana milk.
(These Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies are another treat I recommend!)
Before I became a mom, I would sniff with disdain at the thought of resorting to bribery to keep my kids in line. Of course my boys would be little angels who would immediately respond to my wise motherly directions.
I’ve discovered the route to the best-behaved, most well-adjusted, and totally loved kidlets is a huge detour from my naïve notions of motherhood.
My boys were each born with a huge capacity for head-butts. My mom smiles sweetly and tells me, “It’s genetic.”
Fortunately, so is their appetite for a good bribe treat. And I know how to use that to our mutual advantage.
When I heard about the new product called Sir Bananas Banana Milk, I knew I had to get some. My boys love bananas but the pesky fruit goes south too fast, too often. But milk made with bananas? That’s something that lasts. I think. I can’t prove that because it doesn’t last too long at our house.
But when something this good is so easy, that’s OK. Sir Bananas Banana Milk is made with real bananas. It has eight essential nutrients and there are seven grams of protein in one cup. Besides, it has a fun name that little boys like to say. Bonus: the half-gallons come in Real Bananas and Real Bananas & Chocolate.
Bribery at its finest.
And when I really want to thrill my guys, I plus up a boxed cake mix with bananas and banana milk and serve it warm, with a side glass of frosty Sir Bananas. It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s delicious.
It’s a mom-victory over head-butts. A secret weapon for diplomacy.
Sir Bananas Banana Milk is a new product so you might want to use their store locator to find it in your area. It’s also available in single-serve options—perfect for school lunches, ball practice, and weekend picnics.
