What is campfire sauce? If you’ve ever been to Red Robin, you know. This sauce is creamy, smoky, with just the right amount of tang and heat. It’s like BBQ sauce and mayo had a baby, and that baby grew up to be the life of the party.

3 Ingredients Needed

  • ⅔ cup mayonnaiseWe recommend Kraft Real Mayo for the best taste.

Optional items to serve with this sauce:

  • Breaded chicken tenders: A crispy and tasty dipping option.
  • Onion rings: Perfectly cooked, these add a crunchy companion to the sauce.
  • French fries: A classic choice that pairs wonderfully with the sauce.

How to Make It

  1. Stir it up: Throw everything in a bowl and mix until smooth.
  2. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so the flavors can get cozy.
  3. Dip, dunk, slather, repeat.

Leftover sauce?

Try it on grilled corn, as a burger spread, or even as a salad dressing base with a splash of vinegar. It’s that good.

This sauce keeps well for a week in the fridge — but good luck making it last that long.

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • cup mayonnaise, Kraft Real Mayo brand
  • ½ cup Hickory Bourbon flavored barbeque sauce, STUBB’S brand
  • teaspoon chili powder

Optional items to serve with this sauce

  • Breaded chicken tenders, cooked according to package directions
  • Onion rings, cooked according to package directions
  • French Fries, cooked according to package directions

Instructions

  • In a small bowl stir together the mayonnaise, hickory bourbon flavored barbecue sauce and chili powder until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Transfer to single serving dishes or a larger single serving bowl. Serve with desired sides.

Notes

  • This recipe can easily be halved, or doubled, to suit your needs.
  • We highly suggest using the STUBB’S brand hickory bourbon barbecue sauce for the closest match in flavor to the original Red Robin Campfire sauce you can order in the restaurants. If you can not find this particular brand of sauce, use a hickory flavored sweet & smokey barbecue sauce.
  • You will need to be mindful that if you are using a different brand of sauce that the final color, and flavor, of this sauce will vary.
