Ingredients
1cupwarm water,80 to 90°F
2teaspoonssugar
2teaspoonsactive dry yeast
3cupsflour,plus more for dusting
½tablespoonsalt
1tablespoonolive oil
½teaspoongarlic powder
Instructions
In the warm water, dissolve the sugar and yeast. Let sit for 3 to 5 minutes until bubbly.
Pour into the bowl of a stand mixer and add only 2 cups of flour and salt.
Mix on low until the dough is just combined. Cover and rise for 1 hour.
After the dough has risen, add olive oil, 1 cup of flour, and garlic powder. Mix with a dough hook until dough forms a ball. If it’s too sticky, gradually add more flour.
Refrigerate until ready to use or turn out onto a floured surface. Form a ball with the dough and cut into fourths. Set three of the pieces aside and cover until you’re ready for them.
Notes
If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can use a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients before covering and letting it rise.
If you aren’t using a stand mixer, once the dough is finished rising, you can knead it by hand on your floured work surface until it forms a smooth ball. This will likely take somewhere between 4 to 6 minutes.
Roll out your pizza dough with a rolling pin on a pizza pan or baking stone, add all your favorite toppings and mozzarella cheese and bake for about 15 minutes (or until the cheese is melted and the crust is lightly brown). It is recommended to bake pizza at a fairly high temperature, somewhere between 425°F and 475°F will give you the best results.
