10.5ouncescream of chicken and mushroom soup(or use cream of chicken soup)
10.5ouncescream of celery soup
1cupwhole milk
3cupscooked chicken breast,diced
salt and pepper,to taste
½cupsalted butter,divided into 4 tablespoons and 4 tablespoons
1cupyellow onion,diced
1cupcelery,diced
3clovesgarlic,minced
1½cupwater
6ouncesStove Top stuffing,chicken flavor
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together both cans of soup and the milk until smooth.
Add the cooked chicken to the soup mixture and stir until everything is evenly combined.
Transfer the chicken and soup mixture to a 3-quart casserole dish or a 9×13 baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
Lightly season the top with black pepper and a small pinch of salt, if needed. Set the dish aside.
In a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add the onions, celery, and minced garlic, and sauté until the vegetables are soft and translucent.
Stir the entire contents of the stuffing mix into the skillet. Pour the water over the mixture and stir until fully combined.
Evenly spread the stuffing mixture over the chicken and soup layer in the casserole dish.
Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter and drizzle it evenly over the top of the stuffing.
Place the casserole in the oven, uncovered, and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the stuffing is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbling.
Serve right away.
