Ingredients
2cupsdark brown sugar
1cupunsalted butter,softened
1teaspoonvanilla extract

2¼cupsall-purpose flour

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add the brown sugar and butter to a mixing bowl and beat until creamy, then add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, add the flour, baking soda, and salt to a separate bowl and mix together.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture a quarter at a time, and mix until combined.
Cover the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refridgeratorfor 30-60 minutes.
Using a cookie scoop, drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared pan, about 2 inches apart.
Bake cookies for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow them to cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes, then move the cookies to a cooling rack.
Notes
You can make dough for this brown sugar cookie recipe up to 24 hours in advance and keep it refrigerated.
Make sure you cream your butter and brown sugar well. If you have pockets of butter left during baking, it will melt, causing uneven spread.
