Ingredients
¼cupflour
2sheetspuff pastry
¼cuphoney
1egg
1tablespoonwater
¼cuppowdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
Sprinkle your surface with flour, and unfold the thawed puff pastry. Use a rolling pin to smooth out the creases on each sheet. They should be about 11x12 inches.
Pour the honey onto one of the puff pastry sheets and spread it to all 4 corners. Cover with the second sheet.
Cut the dough into ½ inch strips using a pizza cutter or knife. Twist 2 strips together and roll them into a knot. Place onto the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water with a fork. Brush onto each pastry and bake for 25 minutes or until golden. Sift powdered sugar onto each pastry and drizzle with honey before serving.
Notes
Puff pastry should be at room temperature to work with, as this makes it easier to flatten out and more pliable to shape.
When cutting your pastry to the desired size or shape, cut directly through the layers of dough, don’t drag the knife as this will tear the pastry.
Oven temperatures vary and may need to be recalibrated periodically to ensure they are accurate. Make sure to keep a close eye on your pastry as the suggested baking time approaches.
