Ingredients
6ouncesstrawberry jello mix
¾cupboiling water
2tablespoonslemon juice
24ouncesCool Whip,thawed
16ouncesfrozen sliced strawberries
1angel food cake
fresh strawberries,for garnish
Instructions
Mix the packages of strawberry jello, boiling water, and lemon juice in a small mixing bowl. Stir well until completely dissolved and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine 2 of the containers of Cool Whip, sliced strawberries, and the jello mixture. Mix well.
Tear the prepared angel food cake into pieces and mix into the jello Cool Whip mixture.
Spread evenly into a 9 x 13 dish. Top with the remaining container of Cool Whip. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to overnight.
Garnish with fresh strawberries prior to serving.

This fruity no-bake dessert doesn’t have to be made in a pan as long as you adjust for the amount you need in different containers. From casserole dishes to personal cups to trifle bowls, how you serve and how much you serve at once is totally up to you.
If you are baking the cake yourself for this recipe, make sure to let the cake cool to room temperature before adding it so that it doesn’t make the other ingredients too warm.
This cake needs at least 4 to 5 hours in the fridge so that the layers of cake can soak up all of the flavors. Overnight is even better.
