Ingredients
4cupsapple cider,or 1 liter
½cupfresh cranberries
½teaspoonground cloves
5whole allspice berries
3whole star anise
3cinnamon sticks
½medium sizedorange,sliced ¼-inch thick
2ouncesbrandy
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, mix together the cider, cranberries, cloves, allspice berries, star anise, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices.
Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat immediately to the lowest setting.
Cover and cook on low for an hour, stirring every 20 mins.
Remove from heat and stir in the brandy.
Serve warm.
Notes
If you would like a family-friendly version, just omit the brandy.
This also makes a wonderful air deodorizer. Leave the lid off while boiling to leave a wonderful scent in the air.
