8ouncescream cheese,softened (226-gram package)
½cupsalted butter,softened
2tablespoonsheavy cream
1teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1teaspoonground cinnamon
3cupspowdered sugar,sifted
Instructions
Using either a stand mixer fitted with a wire whisk attachment or a medium-sized mixing bowl (2-3 quarts) and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, mix the softened cream cheese and softened butter for 2-2½ minutes until light and fluffy.
Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Continue mixing until well combined and no streaks of vanilla remain.
Lower the mixer speed to medium-low. Add the powdered sugar ½ cup at a time, mixing well after each addition until your frosting is smooth and creamy.
Notes
The beauty of this easy cream cheese frosting is that you can make it in advance and store it in the freezer until you are ready to use it.
Make sure you use room-temperature cream cheese so you don’t end up with lumps in your creamy frosting.
If your kitchen is on the humid side, you will need to sift the powdered sugar to remove any clumps.
