Ingredients
1ouncebutterscotch Schnapps,chilled
½ounceBaileys original Irish cream liqueur,chilled
Instructions
Pour the chilled butterscotch schnapps into a chilled 1½-ounce shot glass.
Hold a cocktail stirring spoon upside down at a slight angle, resting it just above the schnapps at the inside edge of the glass.
Slowly pour the chilled Baileys Irish cream over the back of the spoon so it flows gently into the glass. Pour as slowly as possible to keep the two layers from mixing.
Drink the shot all at once - this one isn't meant to be sipped.
Notes
Make sure your schnapps and Irish cream are very cold. It will make this shot taste much better. I suggest putting your bottles in the fridge 12 hours before you want to make these, or for at least a few hours in the freezer.
If you want to make a tray of these for a party, pour all the butterscotch liqueur into the shot glasses first, then layer the Irish cream after. It makes it a lot faster and more efficient.
Use 1½ ounce shot glasses. I like tall, heavy-bottomed, clear shot glasses for this recipe, because it allows me to show off the layers.
Any spoon will work to make this shot. If you simply pour, your shot will still taste delicious, but you won't have as much of that fancy layered look.
It can be difficult to pour the Irish cream layer right from the bottle. So, I suggest pouring a bit into a smaller cup or even another shot glass, then adding it slowly over the spoon.
