Ingredients
8ouncesItalian or French bread
½cupunsalted butter,room temperature
2tablespoonsolive oil
1½tablespoonsfresh garlic,finely minced
1tablespoonfresh parsley,chopped
½teaspoonsalt
grated parmesan cheese,optional garnish
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. You will want to follow your brand’s factory instructions for preheating if your brand does not have a preheat setting.
Slice your loaf of Italian bread in half, then slice down the side of each half to open up the bread to expose the center. You should have four equally sized pieces of bread. A sharp serrated knife works best for this.
Mix the softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt in a small mixing bowl. You want to make sure that you have a fully combined mixture.
Divide your butter mixture evenly between each piece of bread and spread it over the entire surface of the bread.
Place two of the pieces of the buttered Italian loaf into the basket of the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining two pieces. See tips if you only want to cook half the loaf of garlic toast at a time.
Carefully remove the garlic bread from the air fryer and slice each loaf into 4 (2-inch) pieces, making a total of 8 slices for a half loaf or 16 slices for a full loaf.
Notes
Make sure to check your air fryer manual for time guidelines for your specific air fryer model, as the baking time and temperatures vary depending on the type of air fryer you have.
A sharp serrated knife works best for slicing the fresh bread.
A fork works really well to mash up the butter and other ingredients. You can also use a small plastic spatula to mash and blend all the ingredients together.
