Spaghetti Pie

For the crust:

  • 6 oz of cooked spaghetti noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs beat well

For the filling:

  • 1 pound of ground beef or pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup of chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup 8 oz cut up tomatoes (I like to use fresh tomatoes but you can also use canned)
  • 1 6 oz can of tomato paste
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic salt
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese shredded


For the crust:

  • Cook the spaghetti noodles. Once cooked, mix with butter, parmesan cheese, and well-beaten eggs.
  • Press this mixture into a crust in a 10-12 inch pie plate.

For the filling:

  • Cook the meat until browned along with diced green pepper and chopped onion. Drain and return to the pan.
  • Next, add in the tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt and heat through.
  • Preheat oven to 375*.
  • Spread cottage cheese over the spaghetti noodle crust. Then pour in the meat/sauce mixture.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and bake for an additional five minutes, until cheese is melted.
