To make the salad, you will need:

  • 1 head of lettuce
  • 3 chicken breasts cooked with ginger root
  • 5 oz can of chow mein noodles
  • pack of almonds
  • 3-6 green onions
  • ¼ cup of sesame seeds

To make the dressing, you will need:

  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 cup oil


  • Begin by toasting the almonds and sesame seeds in a little oil on the stove.
  • Next, toss chicken, lettuce, onions, almonds and sesame seeds together in a bowl.
  • Just before serving, add noodles and dressing.


To make the dressing, heat sugar, salt, pepper, and vinegar until sugar is dissolved. Cool, then add 1/2 cup of oil. Put in a sealed jar and shake well to mix.
