Turkey Taco Ring
Filling and yummy, this simple turkey taco ring is loaded with authentic Mexican flavor that is ready in less than half an hour.
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
- 2 cups cooked turkey shredded
- 4 ounces green chilies diced
- ¼ cup water
- 1 package taco seasoning (or 3 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- lettuce shredded
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a large skillet add the water, shredded turkey, green chilies and taco seasoning. Cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until the turkey reheated.
Remove from heat and set aside.
On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange crescent dough triangles in a ring so the short sides of triangles form a 6-inch circle in the center. (Place a small bowl in the center to help with arranging the crescent dough). The dough will overlap.
Spoon turkey meat over the wide section of the roll close to the center. Sprinkle cheese on top.
Bring each triangle tip up over the filling, tucking it under the bottom layer of dough to secure it.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until ring turns a golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
Place a bowl salsa in the center of the ring for dipping.
Garnish with shredded lettuce, if desired.
TIP: You can bake your turkey breast in the oven, or in your Instant Pot, or use leftover turkey!
TIP: Placing a small bowl in the center will help you arrange the crescent roll triangles.
TIP: It's best to grate cheese at home as pre-shredded cheese tends to be coated with an anti-caking agent that prevents it from melting completely.
