- 3 cups watermelon juice, I used the all-natural Simply brand
- 1 cup watermelon vodka, I used Smirnoff brand
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup mint simple syrup
- 2 teaspoons grenadine syrup
- Wedges of fresh watermelon and sprigs of fresh mint, for garnish
Mint simple syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 sprigs, about 15 leaves of fresh mint
In a 2 cup microwave-safe glass measuring cup, heat the sugar and water for 2 minutes. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the fresh mint leaves and allow the simple syrup to cool completely before using it in the recipe.
In a pitcher, combine the watermelon juice, watermelon vodka, fresh lime juice, mint simple syrup, and grenadine syrup. Stir until completely incorporated. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with small watermelon wedges and a sprig of mint.
- This recipe makes four cocktails; if you want to make a smaller or larger batch, adjust the ingredients accordingly.
- You will have extra mint simple syrup leftover from this recipe. It can be stored in a sealed mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It is great to use in a number of other cocktails or non-alcoholic drinks and is great to use to sweeten iced teas as well.
- This watermelon cocktail should be served chilled; therefore, it makes a great make-ahead cocktail for a party. If you do not want to wait for it to chill, you can serve it over ice.
