1poundmedium cheddar cheese
1poundsliced roast beef
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Slice the whole sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping the rolls attached to each other. Set the top half of the rolls aside.
Place the rolls in a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Spread mayonnaise over the rolls.
Top with a generous layer of overlapping slices of cheddar cheese.
Mound roast beef over the cheese layer.
Top with another generous layer of cheddar cheese.
Place the tops of the rolls over the prepared sliders.
Whisk together melted butter, mustard, barbecue sauce, and poppy seeds.
Drizzle butter mixture over the rolls and use a pastry brush to spread the mixture over the tops of all of the rolls.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and cook for about 5 minutes longer or until the tops of the rolls are toasted and golden brown.
PRO TIP:A full pound of roast beef slices is going to give you some nice layers of roast beef instead of just one layer for these sandwiches.PRO TIP:Sometimes grocery stores only have the 12-pack of rolls so you can buy 2 and use as many as you need to fill your baking dish.PRO TIP:Don’t skimp on the butter. It soaks into all the nooks and crannies and adds a ton of flavor to both the top and the bottom half of the slider buns.PRO TIP:The rolls will toast on top quickly, so it is important to cover the full pan with a sheet of aluminum foil for the full 30 minutes to allow the cheese to melt all the way in the center of the dish. Once the rolls are hot and melty all the way through, remove the foil and continue cooking for just a few moments to toast the tops of the buns.
