Review RecipeVintage Donald Duck Birthday {Disney Party Ideas}
Table of Contents
This boy’s 3rd birthday party theme brought back fond memories!
I had a dear uncle who used to tease me using a Donald Duck voice; I had forgotten about that until I saw the party that Patty, from Sweet Treat Stands, designed for her son.
Colton’s favorite cartoon character is the sweetest of all the early Disney cast and that is who he wanted his party theme to center on.
Patty gathered ideas and supplies to feature Donald Duck. Then she went on to create a vintage county fair atmosphere with delightful decorations that would star Donald, delight Colton and amaze guests.
Her choices for invitations, the cake and party favors will inspire you as will the gorgeous photography by Wendhy Jeffers Photography, too.

Party guests were invited to the celebration via an invitation that closely resembled old-time fair bills. They had to know they were in for a special day when they opened the invite envelopes! Patty chose an outdoor venue to transport guests to an old-fashioned county fair. She imagined cotton candy and hot dogs; there would have to be classic games and a nod to blue-ribbon quilts, too.
Patty arranged a darling dessert table in front of a wooden fence. Then she hung a giant welcome in the form of a vintage looking county fair sign. Patty dressed the table (in reference to the quilts) in gingham ruffles; a Donald medallion anchored the swag.
A cute tower of cake and cupcakes entice guests to come closer. Donald’s signature hat and bow tie adorn the centerpiece birthday cake; it’s topped with a carnival marquee letter “C”.
A miniature popcorn booth and tabletop Ferris wheel offer more cupcakes.
A little farm truck serves small fruit pies; in addition there is a variety of rice Krispy treats-on- a- stick, swirly lollipops, custom designed sugar cookies and more cupcakes.
Popcorn attracts attention in red and white stripes. Homemade strawberry-lemonade cotton candy is guaranteed to produce some sticky smiles!
At an auxiliary display, bottles of soda pop stand at the ready in a vintage wood crate. Colorful straws waving birthday flags add cheery color.
Ring-toss and sack races were among the carnival themed games. A Donald Duck piñata was a hit, too. A family friend provided live guitar music. Dapper bowties for the boys and beauty queen sashes for the little ladies kept everyone looking their charming best.
Birthday boy Colton wore colors to coordinate with Donald; the all-in-one piece t-shirt with suspenders and newsboy cap looks darling. Guests were also gifted with special treats-on-a-stick to take home with their blue ribbons.
