Vintage Circus Birthday Dessert Table [Boy Bash]

Table of Contents

Every Tuesday, we’re going to be featuring a budget themed dessert table or tablescape from the talented women who have graciously volunteered to take on our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. And we’re even going to throw our own work into the ring from time to time and follow the same budget confines. Every participant gets the Spaceships and Laser Beams Collection of their choice + $50 for a dessert table or $20 for a tablescape. They can also use anything they are able beg or borrow, make themselves or already own.

It’s hard to believe that today’s Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge submission is a budget-friendly party. Every detail has been considered. This fabulous Vintage Circus themed dessert table is the work of Jennifer from Jennifer Stafford Events. I’ve been trying to think of a favorite detail and it’s hard to narrow it down to just one. I’m loving the use of pink popcorn as clown hair on our clown cupcake wrappers as it’s something I have never ever thought of doing. But those ice cream cone cupcakes are darn near perfect for a circus birthday party. We have the complete budget breakdown at the end of the post. (Photography by Andrea Gurniak Photography)

The budget breakdown in Jennifer’s own words:

Items I purchased:
– Plastic table cloth $1
– Colored napkins $2
– Home baked goodies (sugar cookies, ice cream cone cake pops, giant cupcake (big top), cupcakes, & cake pops) $10
– Bag of peanuts $5
– Pink Elephant popcorn $3
– Double Bubble $2
– Pizelles $3
– Popcorn Containers $2
– Mini Doughnuts $1
– Bag of colored poms for the faux clown hair $1
Items I had:
– vintage suitcase
– milk glasses
– paper straws
– vintage scale
– borrowed two of my sons stuffed animals
– apple crate
– old piece of burlap – always have lots on hand- burlap can be used for so many different projects!
– cake stands & apothecary jars
– candle holder – which I’m using as a Ferris Wheel style treat stand
– ceramic egg container – love these for cake pops
– marshmallows & salt water taffy – two items I always have on hand, a) because they are delicious & b) because they look wonderful in candy jars, and work well as fillers with other dessert displays.
– apples – endless supply in the back yard
