Some of you may have seen these photos on Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas, but I wanted to share them on our blog and celebrate the work of some great people involved in bringing them to life. The printables for our Vintage Car theme were developed by Janelle of Hello Dear Design and Illustration. (Incidentally, Janelle also designed our Classic Monster theme, an awesome baseball theme we’re about to release and is currently working on the most gorgeous vintage train collection.)
The cakes and cupcakes are from the Cake Box, my go-to local cake shop. I basically just showed Yvonne, the owner, our printables and she used her creative vision to create treats that were simple, yet so full of impact.
I’ve long been calling this dessert table a “life preserver for the mommy who is pulled in all directions.” The mini cheese cakes, chocolates, drinks and even the apple slices (purchased sliced) were all bought from a grocery store. I think it’s realistic for the time constraints faced by many moms. I don’t know about you but I’m not just burning the candle at both ends, I’ve gone and thrown the whole darn thing in the fire.
I also think the size and number of sweets available on this dessert table is appropriate for an in-home gathering. Let’s face it, who wants to go through all this work only to have tons of leftovers.
Oh, and a little secret: those drinks are just flavored spring water. I soaked off the labels and attached our 1″ and 2″ circle decals instead.
All of these wonderful photos were taken by Emma, the talent behind barebone photo.
