Is everyone else’s home in full-blown unicorn obsession?
I have to admit, I’m fully embracing my 6 year old’s obsession and even made these Unicorn Slushies as a fun alternative to the infamous unicorn frapp – you can make them virgin for kids or alcoholic for grown-ups. Grab a straw and let’s dig in!
We’ve been making unicorn-themed treats all year long, ever since my daughter’s friend announced her unicorn-themed birthday party and look my daughter’s “unicorn curiousity” and threw it into a full-blown obsession!
Kind of like a homemade ICEE or slurpie, this unicorn slushie can be made two ways. One involves freezing soda ice cubes beforehand and the other can be made more spur of the moment.
I used a mixture of three sodas to make the perfect blend – clear cream soda, pink cream soda, and blackberry gingerale. Since the blackberry gingerale is seasonal, you can skip it if it’s not available when you’re looking to make this and the taste it adds is subtle so you won’t lose much 🙂
If you’re able to make ice cubes with the soda in advance, you will get the best color and flavor – however, if you don’t make pre-made soda ice cubes you may just want to add a drop or two of additional food dye to really bump up that pretty color.

This Unicorn Slushie is a delicious take on the slushie cocktail trend, with a subtle vanilla-blackberry taste and a beautiful presentation thanks to edible pearls and edible glitter. It would make a great addition to a brunch or backyard party.

Unicorn Slush - Vodka Slushie CocktailPrint Pin Rate
- 1-12 oz can pink cream soda
- 4 oz clear cream soda Fanta brand
- 1-12 oz can blackberry gingerale
- 12 ice cubes made with soda preferably
- Edible non-pareille pearls
- Edible glitter
- Vanilla or cake vodka optional
- 1. If possible, at least 3 hours before you need to serve your slushies make your "soda ice cubes" by freezing one tray of cream soda and one tray of blackberry gingerale - or just the clear cream soda.
- 2. Place the pink cream soda, 4-6 soda ice cubes and optional pink food dye in a smoothie blender. Puree until smooth, adding more soda or ice as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
- 3. Set aside and repeat with the blackberry gingerale. Add the clear cream soda to taste.
- 4. Spoon the pink and purple slushie mixtures into your serving glasses. If serving as a cocktail, add the vodka now (2oz per serving should do it).
- 5. Top with edible glitter and pearls. Serve immediately.
