Never Think About What to Make for Dinner for the Next Two Months with My Lazy Cooking Bundle
Every Tuesday, we’re going to be featuring a budget themed dessert table or tablescape from the talented women who have graciously volunteered to take on our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. And we’re even going to throw our own work into the ring from time to time and follow the same budget confines. Every participant gets the Spaceships and Laser Beams Collection of their choice + $50 for a dessert table or $20 for a tablescape. They can also use anything they are able beg or borrow, make themselves or already own.
How cute is today’s Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge submission? Christy of Addy Mae Creations used our Snakes and Snails collection as a foundation for a really sweet and simple dessert table. Christy has tons of awesome background on how she put it together and what she spent at the end of the post.
IN CHRISTIE’S OWN WORDS
I’m kind of a “less is more” type of girl, so I chose to keep the table very simple. I’m in love with this accent table in my friend’s home, and knew it would be perfect for a dessert tablea quaint one 🙂 The Snakes & Snails theme married well with the rustic, outdoor look of the table, and because I was doing the set up in her home, I abandoned the idea of any hanging or complicated backdrop. As a substitute, I thought of displaying wooden letters. I happen to adore them! All fonts and sizes! So many possibilities! I simply leaned them against the wall, and adorned them with little wooden decals I found at Joanne’s, plus they were easy to transport. I find this collection is geared towards younger fellas, so I wanted the sweets to reflect that, and chose ones that were fun and manageable for little hands.
My FAVS on the table are:
Custom Drizzle Cake created with love by my local buddy Staci, with Lizard & Ladybug. I tell her she’s on to something with these cakes! She nailed my color requests, it was delish, AND she graciously kept within my lil budget 🙂
Fruit by the Foot Snail Shells These dawned on me one day and I literally ran to Target to buy them! What kid is not completely fascinated with these things? Just took them out of their wrappers and popped them on the serving plate. Instant themed treat! 🙂
Upside down Party Hat Favors I am a HUGE cheerleader for favors, so I knew I had to incorporate the Thank You tags. I also had a crush on the party hats. I decided what better way to use the hat than as a container? I found some $1 bags of animal crackers, and Voila, easy sweet favor.
Green Jello Cups, AKA “Snail Slime” this was another easy, fun, perfectly green treat, which fit the Snakes & Snails theme. No assembly required!
