Boy parties are our specialty around here but I just couldn’t pass up sharing one last retro Halloween party this season, even though Catwoman (vintage 60’s and 70’s) is the muse for this theme! Melissa, at Melissa Creates and Melinda, of Good 2 Go Event Management, styled this party for an inspirational shoot; they came up with some really fun ideas! The supplies used for decorations are quite clever and especially might inspire you if you are short on time and trying to pull together a Halloween bash for girls or boys.

The dessert table is covered in seasonal orange and black, but the wide variety of patterns gives it a lot of zing. Bold black and white stripes serve as a wonderful graphic backdrop for the table, but the frame with multiple cat-eye masks is the simple stroke of genius in this display. Typically, multiples of any object make more of an impact than a single item.

The bare tree branch on the left of the table fills in the empty visual space and nicely balances the framed masks.
The trio of pumpkins didn’t need to be carved because they are dressed for the occasion in hats, scarves and jewels as a nod to the thief persona of Catwoman.
A grinning cat framed in gold invites guests to “Pick Your Treat”. This table offers chocolate bars in retro wrappers, candy corn, chocolate log rolls, apples, suckers and popcorn balls.
All of these treats would afford quick assembly and still be sure to satisfy a sweet tooth. For visual interest, remember to use a variety of display levels as Melissa did here for a purrrrfectly lovely inspiration Halloween party!
