This fun PB&J Sandwich Monster is a great bento box idea.
Am I the only one who wonders if my child will eat the school lunch I send when I’m not there to encourage him? I’m thinking bento-style school lunches that capture attention will be most likely to get eaten. I know this easy-to-create PB&J sandwich monster slider will be fun and it will be on our menu rotation. Thanks for helping it happen and a thank-you to The J.M. Smucker Company, Pepperidge Farm®, and the Ziploc® brand for sponsoring this post.
Can you believe it’s time to be talking about back-to-school ideas? We’re there! While I was at Meijer this week I noticed a lot of school season displays. They have everything!
School clothes and supplies aren’t a tough challenge for me but a big concern is knowing my little guy will be eating enough to stay fueled for the day.
Since I was an elementary school teacher before I started my own family, I remember seeing finicky little eaters pick out only their favorite items and tossing the rest before I wised up and intervened.
And then there were the social butterflies who would rather laugh and play with their friends instead of eating.
Those same kids would run out of steam before the day was over when they didn’t eat enough. Not great for student or teacher.
I don’t want that for my son.
I know he loves Jif® Peanut Butter and Smucker’s® Strawberry Jam sandwiches (so do I!) and silly monsters are just the kind of incentive to keep his focus long enough to eat before recess play.
And…fun lunches are another way to say “I love you” even while he’s at school.
I like using the Pepperidge Farm® Sliders for creating a monster PB&J. Besides being the perfect texture and tasting delicious with the creamy Jif® and Smucker’s® jam, they are easy for small hands to hold and the “goodies” stay put.
Adding a few side veggies, pretzels, and extra fruit rounds out a lunch that I know he’ll like and I’ll feel good about.
The only other thing is keeping everything fresh and I like the Ziploc® brand containers To Go Variety Pack for that. The lids stay put yet they’re easy for kids to take off and on.
Find everything for back-to-school lunch solutions at your local Meijer. From 8/20 – 9/17 there are some great deals there. Save up to $1 on Jif® and Smucker’s® and buy any two Ziploc® brand products and save $2.00. Make sure to use mPerks for great savings!
Wonder no more: Bento boxes with PB&J monster sandwiches are a great way to satisfy kids, moms, and teachers!

- 4. Place a small blueberry in the middle of the hole; insert a toothpick to keep it together. Repeat for the other eye.
