If you like that vintage vibe and want a first birthday party theme that is full of style, check out this old fashioned barber shop inspired first birthday party.
Thrown by Sherry of Sweet Festivity for her son, Noah’s first birthday party, it is full of classic “little man” details and birthday party decorations.
We are sure you’ll smile as you spot bow ties, moustaches, and quintessential red and white barber shop stripes in the party photos.
With a little one nicknamed, Mr. Noah from birth, a moustache bash with that old fashioned barber shop flair was a perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the darling party favors, beautiful dessert display—including a ruffled birthday cake—and fitting photo booth party activity.

Giving a barber shop feel to this first birthday party started with the dessert table. The backdrop for the dessert table was covered in a black and white old-fashioned pattern featuring classic barber shop products.
Red and white striped tissue paper fans were hung alongside a vintage fan made from paper printed with moustaches. A sweet name banner spelling out “Noah”, adorned the front of the table.
I love the way the blue 3-D initial “N” gives a nod to Noah’s name and ties in the color of the highchair.
Also, the table centerpieces were a fun personalized combination of photos of Noah with a moustache added, and a cute printable “Mr. Noah is turning one” sign.
So many fun and delicious sweets dotted the dessert table.
Old school candy jars were filled with gumdrops, lemon candy, and salt water taffy. Red and white striped lollipops imitated the stripes from a barber shop pole. Mustache toppers added a touch of whimsy to the tiers of cupcakes.
A simple ruffled cake topped with a red and white bow shone on a vibrant yellow cake stand.
Notice that yellow balloons tied to the high chair helped to connect the yellow pops of color. Marshmallow pops coated in blue were another treat offering.
Perhaps my most favorite dessert table offering, however, were the incredible barber inspired little man cake pops. Aren’t the facial details just so cute?
Guests got to “wet their whiskers” with water bottles covered in cute moustache themed printables.
I love that the moustache motif was carried throughout the printable elements. Orange flavored soda bottles were also a beverage option at this first birthday party.
I’m a sucker for a great party favor, especially when a clever sentiment is included. Check out the chocolate moustaches, displayed in the vintage suitcase.
I adore the “Thanks for ‘combing over’” tag. What a genius way to tie in the barber shop party theme.
Another great party idea from this first birthday party that can be incorporated into any party theme is setting up a photo booth.
A little sign invited guests to step right up to the fancy photo booth, grab a prop, and smile big. A jar was full of simple photo booth props—paper moustaches and bow ties.
An instant camera was on hand so that guests could take a photo on the spot and include it in a photo guest book for the birthday boy. What a wonderful keepsake!
What a fun way to celebrate a baby boy’s first birthday in style.
