This take on a baseball party dessert table was created using our Classic Baseball Collection. It’s one of our most popular themes for boy’s birthday parties in the spring, particularly because of it’s vintage vibe.
Being a mom myself, I am always very concerned about the amount of junk food my son intakes. I thought instead of a candy bar, we’d develop a healthy(ish) concession stand that would be perfect — and affordable — for any boy’s party. The shopping list includes multigrain crisps, popcorn, apple slices, pretzels, chocolate covered berries, grapes and chocolate covered pretzels. For beverages, we had water and juice boxes.
(Don’t miss the darling details of this boy’s baseball themed baby shower, too!)
The small posters on the backdrop are just our food labels that I had blown up on an 11×17 sheet of paper. They ended up working really well with our concession stand banner. It’s super cost effective to do a backdrop this way, rather than covering the full wall behind the dessert table.
In order for this dessert table to have a concession stand feel, it was a must that the food elements be stacked on levels. I used picture shelves as well as two short pieces 4×4 covered in burlap to accomplish this.
This photo shoot was another Spaceships and Laser Beams team effort as Janelle designed the collection, I did the set-up and Mike took the photographs.
The popcorn containers are actually pre-made from Michael’s. I even used them at a vintage circus themed party we had one New Year’s Eve.
These baseballs were actually water toys that I picked up at my local dollar store. They were about $1 for a half dozen, so it is a huge budget saver as it can double as a baseball-themed favor idea as well as decor.
I’ve used apple slices served in bags at several of my parties now and they are a huge hit: something kids love to eat and parents don’t mind them snacking on.
I wanted to show multiple ways that our products can be used, so I actually cut up the placemat that comes with the collection and used it to cover drink boxes as well as the water bottles and the fronts of the bags that held the multigrain crisps. I also used the player cupcake wrappers to dress up mason jars.
