A first birthday party is such a special occasion. This gorgeous celebration, created by MaMeMima’s Nadia for her son’s first birthday, pairs a soft yellow, grey, and white palette with modern and vintage items for a chic, instead of babyish, look. Handmade decorations, homemade desserts, and a sweet surprise at the end of the party made this labor of love an unforgettable event for little Giacomo’s loved ones.
- This BEE-utiful Bee-Themed First Birthday is sweet as honey
- Consider this your royal invitation to a London-themed First Birthday Party
- Fly away with this handsome Hot Air Balloon First Birthday Party
Nadia’s modern-vintage-style invitation is a preview of the theme used throughout the party. At a welcome table with a guest book and handmade party hats, Giacomo’s sweet photo greets guests. Next to a handmade fabric pennant banner, oversized wooden letters personalized with Giacomo’s silhouette lean against a vintage-style wooden wagon. Balloons and paper lanterns dress up the outdoor area, and a balloon-filled canopy gave parents a place to relax while little ones played outside. Snapshots turned an ordinary clothesline into a precious garland that family members could enjoy.
This mid-morning party had a brunch menu, and the smallest partygoers really enjoyed the Cheerios and berries. Pre-portioning in theme-colored paper cups made displaying and serving a breeze. Inside, Nadia arranged a stunning dessert table with handmade fabric banners, stylish accents, and homemade desserts. An adorable tiny bunting tops the smash cake, framed printables elegantly personalize the space, and endlessly-versatile white glassware looks chic.
The addition of the candelabra-turned-dessert-pedestal adds a sophisticated, vintage flair, contrasting beautifully with modern letter-shaped candy dishes. Nadia’s sister baked all the desserts and brought treats from their home country, Peru, to set up a candy bar. As a sweet surprise, Nadia hired Jimmy’s Soft Serve to create cool custom cones for all of the guests. The fun didn’t stop there! Everyone took a swing at a darling piñata, handmade by Nadia and her sister.
Cute favor tags personalize colorful beach pails filled with little books, bubbles, and beach toys for the youngest guests plus ice cream bar-shaped bubbles for older children. Using a simple theme, Nadia designed a beautiful modern-vintage celebration for her son. With her mother and sister, she handmade many of the party items, which made the event extra special. We hope her simple, creative ideas inspire your own first birthday party plans!
