Never Think About What to Make for Dinner for the Next Two Months with My Lazy Cooking Bundle
I’ve mentioned before that I am throwing a bayou themed birthday party this year. So right now I am obsessed with learning about everything that is Mardi Gras or bayou related. When Keren of Keren Precel Events sent me this Mardi Gras themed boy’s first birthday party, I was thrilled to see just how beautiful it was. (See the simple ribbon ceiling decoration from this party.)
I was also thrilled to see how elegant the food looked. Although the party was for a one year old — as is the case with a lot for first birthday parties — most of the guests were adults. Keren worked with FreshMade NYC, a a catering company that also has a cooking school for kids. FreshMade NYC developed a menu that would please young and old guests alike. And we have the fabulous menu at the end of the post.
Menu items for the adults included:
– Mini Muffuletta Sandwiches
– Vegetarian red bean & Rice
– Crab Cake PoBoy’s
– Creole Tomato Bites
– Canjun Sweet Corn Skewers
– Bananas Foster Bread Pudding Muffins
Menu items for the kids included:
– Fruits and Vegetables nibble tray
– Baked Chicken Fingers
– Baked and healthy Mac and Cheese Cups
– Fruit and Yogurt Parfait cups
And check out how great it looks. I love that it reflects all the elements of the adult’s food table but can easily stand on its own as well.
For the favors, each of the guest took home a custom designed mason jar with “Hurricane Jam” – a sweet home made jam with a kick.See below, they’re great!
Love this photo booth idea! Hanging the frame from the ceiling is such a good idea when you don’t have a lot of space.
