There are tons of really cool craft ideas to do with your kids. Sam and I have done a number of creative activities plus Ive pinned a LOT of ideas for future reference. I know Im not the only mom who does that. Butwhat if you are an attentive but non-crafty mom? Or what if the future projects keep being pushed far into the future because you just dont have time to get the materials together? Orwhat if you need a themed boy birthday party craft activity? Heres a product to help: Green Kid Crafts.
Green Kid Crafts is a subscription program whose activities foster thinking, questioning, and creativity. Every month they send out a Discovery Box containing 3 or 4 unique, themed activity kits. Everything thats needed for those activities is included. The kit Sam recently received had an ocean theme with three crafts: coral postcards (blow paint bubbles), a felt pin-the-tail on the whale game, and a wooden sailboat. Because everything we needed was already included, I had more time to spend on the doing with Sam.
Theres a new theme every month so kids dont become bored with the same old. Some of the previous collections have included Mad Scientist, Feathered Friends, Outer Space, Around the World and Nocturnal Animals. The ideas include STEM activities: science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
I appreciate that the company was founded by a mom (in Alaska). The fact that this program has won a number of awards, including Dr. Toys Best Green Products of 2013, the PTPA Seal of Approval and a recommendation from Parents Choice, caught my attention. The discovery boxes are developed by teachers, crafty moms, and STEM experts so they support developmental skills for the 3 to 10-year-old bracket. I can tell you that 5-year-old boys sure like receiving the box in the mail! Its like a little bit of Christmas every month!
Another positive about this program is that it is certified carbon neutral, Green America Approved, a member of the 1% for the Planet and theyve won numerous awards for responsible business practices.
Green Kid Crafts are available month-to-month so you can buy a single kit plus there are 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions that start at $16.95/month. They also have sibling subscriptions.
If youre a non-crafty type or you dont have the time to spend putting quality projects together, check out Green Kid Crafts. You can find out more information about them on Facebook and Twitter. Plus enjoy their great ideas by following them on Pinterest and Google+.
