HOW TO MAKE THIS HOMEMADE DOG TREATS RECIPE
PRO TIP: The best part of these is how well they freeze. Make a double batch of this homemade dog treats recipe so that you always have a supply of your own homemade dog treats on hand.
STEP ONE: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
STEP TWO: Add all ingredients to a large bowl.
STEP THREE: Blend on low in a stand mixer until well blended. The mixture should form a dough-like texture.
STEP FOUR: Once well mixed, put the dough between two sheets of parchment paper or on a floured surface and using a rolling pin, roll to approximately ¼ inch in thickness.
STEP FIVE: Use a cute cookie cutter or glass to cut out biscuits.
PRO TIP: We used a darling bone-shaped cookie cutter for our puppy treats. But you can use a traditional circle cookie cutter or a glass. If you have other cookie cutters in cute shapes, you could use those as well.
STEP SIX: Place in oven on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper and bake for approximately 17 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack before serving them to your best friend.
PRO TIP: For a more senior dog whose teeth are not what they used to be, you can break the cookies into smaller pieces or put them in their bowl with a little water to soften them up.

Going to make this recipe for some Christmas presents! Is any brand of molasses okay to give to dogs if the only ingredient says molasses? Thanks!
Layne Kangas says
My understanding is blackstrap molasses is best for them! Hope they enjoy!

Would almond milk work instead of milk?
Layne Kangas says
I haven’t tried it with almond milk but I think it would!

Excellent! My Papillon “Skye” loved them. I didn’t have a dog shaped cookie cutter so I used a small round container lid to cut them out. I used a dry measuring cup for the peanut butter if anyone wants to know. I followed the directions exactly and they came out great! Thanks
