An evening in with friends, tasty food and a fun Christmas game are the perfect way to savor the joy of the holiday season!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Applebee’s. The opinions and text are all mine.
If you’ve been around Spaceships and Laser Beams very long, you’ll know two things about me: I love food and I love photography. They’re two huge passions of mine.
So much so, that my role here at Spaceships is creating recipes and photographing them. I can assure you it’s a dream job.
Even though I absolutely love time spent in the kitchen, sometimes my plate gets a little too full. (See that… My dad would be proud, hehe).
Despite my best intentions to not bite off more than I can chew, there are moments my calendar gets a little too jam packed.
Ok, I promise I’m done. 😉
With the busy holiday season upon us, I knew I needed a little extra help in order to successfully enjoy all the plans I had booked. Because as just about any mama will tell you: regular days are busy and the holidays push it all into overdrive.
But I’m not letting the to do and lots of plan deter me — I plan to enjoy every moment possible with those I love this Christmas and New Years.
For weeks now I have been looking forward to a special girl’s night at my house. I invited some of my favorite gals and their daughters over for dinner and game night at my home.
In the middle of this rushed season, it was an invitation to slow down and relax and savor the time together.
I knew that if I was inviting others over to enjoy a quiet evening together, I needed to take a breath and follow my own invitation.
Because of this, I decided to shake things up and stay out of the kitchen. It was an absolutely great decision and helped lead to a completely wonderful event.
Even though I wasn’t slaving away in the kitchen, we still feasted on delicious eats: Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar now offers catering!
It was the perfect solution for our holiday party — or truly just about any event.
Applebee’s Catering is a convenient way to feed a crowd without breaking the bank — you can feed a party of six or more for less than $10 a person. With over 30 yummy menu items to choose from, there is something for everyone.
Ordering is simple — just call or stop in at your local Applebee’s or you can order online up to 14 days in advance.
Have a last minute gathering? No sweat! You can place an order with as little as two hours notice.
For our shindig, I ordered all sorts of favorites. We started with house salads plus Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Nom nom nom.
For our main course we had Fiesta Lime Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Garlicky Green Beans. It was the perfect combination of flavors.
The grand finale was Brownie Bites that I topped with cold vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and crushed peppermint candies. Completely delicious!
I was impressed with how fresh and warm our food stayed in their special packaging. It’s heat resistant and helps ensure your food goes from the restaurant to your party without losing any of it’s deliciousness.
Every dish was high quality and flavorful, just like I’ve come to expect when visiting our local Applebee’s and dining in.
The items available may vary by area, so check out Applebee’s Catering to see what’s available by you.
After our meal, it was time for a little Christmas Music Bingo.
I won’t lie — I was really looking forward to this portion of the evening. With happy taste buds and full bellies, I knew there would be lots of giggles. I was right!
We would read — or sing 🙂 — the lyrics of well known Christmas jingles and you’d pop your candy on the corresponding space if you had that song on your board.
You can snag the free printable for your party.
The entire evening was exactly what my heart needed. I was surrounded by wonderful girls, delicious food and lots of laughter. It was the perfect opportunity to slow down and appreciate the best parts of life.
Catering from Applebee’s was such a great choice and made it so much easier for me to enjoy my guests. I highly recommend you do the same this holiday season — you’ll be so glad you did!
I hope you’re able to soak up every moment with those you love this holiday season. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
