Friends and family came together to celebrate on the eve of a Brigham Young University college rivalry – the honoree’s college alma mater.
Jennifer’s football party supplies include clever invitations, unique wall decorations, custom football cookies, super cupcake ideas AND football party favors that you’ll want to know about for your tailgate party, no matter how old your boy is.
Choose your favorite ideas–or use ‘em all–this surprise football tailgate event has tons of fun inspiration you can use for your own crowd pleasing party.
Let’s talk about the cake. Look at it: a tower of yum, topped with “60” and a helmet in team colors, presented on a platter with the edge encircled with pennants and footballs.
Not only is the food presented fabulously, there are clever menu choices, too, with names such as Safety Soda and Running Back Root Beer, Half-Time Hot Dogs, Hail Mary Honey-Bacon Club Sandwiches, Face Mask Fruit Salad {in a carved watermelon}, Sideline Salad, and Chips to Cheer For.
Quarterback Cupcakes have their own “stadium” platform on the dessert table.
It also features Blocker Brownies and Wideout Whoopie Pies…
…Touchdown Treats in apothecary jars, maple bar Cougar (team mascot) Paws, chocolate covered Strawberry Footballs, Play Action Pretzels, Goal Time Cake Pops…
…and the fantastically decorated Football, BYU logo and jersey-shaped cookies.
There were enough desserts for the party and for take-home in specially decorated favor bags.
Because tailgates are by nature football casual, paper plates and napkins in team colors decorate the guest tables BUT style is ramped up by using footballs and stripes on napkin rings for the table service.
Pennant waving straws add to the fun! Water bottles in polka dots, punctuated with the big 60 stickers, carry on the party theme.
Artificial grass, white ribbon yard lines and die cut numbers top guest tables. BYU balloons are anchored in favor bags in the center of each table, but they float above eye level so as not to interfere with conversation.
Pom-poms, additional footballs and color-coordinated candy complete the handsome table décor.
As a lovely keepsake, Jennifer hung a decorative football field on the wall. Guests signed in on mini footballs and placed them on the field.
They could also write birthday wishes on the football’s backside so the guest of honor could ruminate on them, long after the guests were gone—super idea!
