How fun is this acorn pudding recipe for kids this Thanksgiving? WHITE CHOCOLATE PUDDING INGREDIENTS
? cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup half and half
3 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
7 oz Hersheys baking pieces, premier white chips
1 Tablespoon butter, softened
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
¼ cup chocolate melting chips (or chocolate chips) (to line rims of glasses)
Fall-like sprinkles (to line rims of glasses)
ACORN INGREDIENTS
¼ cup white candy melts (or white chocolate baking chips used for the pudding)
Hershey Kisses, full size
Nutter Butter cookies, mini size
Chocolate chip morsels, regular size
CANDIED RIM DIRECTIONS
- Microwave ¼ cup chocolate candy melts (or chocolate chip morsels used for acorns) in 15 second increments until smooth and creamy.
- Dip dessert dishes into the melted chocolate mixture, covering the top of the rim,
- Sprinkle the chocolate-covered rims with fall-like sprinkles. Let set for 20 minutes.
WHITE CHOCOLATE PUDDING DIRECTIONS
- In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, sift together the sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, half and half and then the yolks.
- Whisk in the whole milk, followed by the white chocolate baking pieces.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking constantly.
- Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 1 ½ -2 minutes. Be sure to stir gently but constantly (preferably with a wooden spoon).
- Stir in the butter and the pure vanilla.
- Divide the mixture into 6 pudding cups or dessert dishes and chill for at least 2 hours.
ACORN ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS
- Melt the white chips in the microwave in 15 second increments until smooth and creamy.
- Dip the bottom of a Hershey kiss into the melted white chocolate.
- Attach a mini size Nutter Butter cookie to the bottom of the Kiss candy. The melted white chocolate will act as the glue to hold it together. Let is set for 2 minutes.
- Dip the bottom of a chocolate chip morsel into the melted white candy and firmly attach to the center of the Nutter Butter piece. Let set for 2 minutes.
- Repeat process for as many acorns as you would like to make.
- Gently place acorns on top of the pudding immediately before serving.
