OREOS: There are plenty of fun flavors beyond the classic Oreo that you can choose for this no-bake treat.

How To Make This Recipe For Oreo Balls

Let’s have a quick look at the steps to making these irresistible truffles.

STEP ONE: Line a baker’s half sheet with parchment paper.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

A baker’s half sheet is approximately 17×12-inches in size.

STEP TWO: Pulse Oreo cookies, complete with filling, in a food processor until you achieve fine crumbs.

PRO TIP:

If you don’t own a food processor, you can place the Oreos in a large Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. You will want to make sure the bag is completely sealed.

STEP THREE: Reserve ¼ cup Oreo cookie crumbs from the food processor, and set aside for later.

PRO TIP:

Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so that it blends well and doesn’t leave lumps in the truffle mixture.

STEP FOUR: Add the room-temperature cream cheese and vanilla to the cookie crumbs in the food processor and pulse until fully incorporated.

PRO TIP:

If your food processor does not fully incorporate the cream cheese and Oreo cookie crumble, you can finish mixing by hand.

STEP FIVE: Use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop to measure out 21 equal-sized portions.

Roll into small balls by hand and place truffles on the prepared baking sheet.

STEP SIX: Freeze the Oreo balls until slightly hardened. This should take about 15 to 20 minutes.

PRO TIP:

Don’t skip the chilling time! The chilled balls will be much easier to work with than ones at room temperature.

STEP SEVEN: Melt shortening and wafers in 30-second intervals at a time in a microwave-safe bowl until melted. Stir well between each heating.

STEP EIGHT: Dip hardened truffles into melted wafer mixture. Turn with a fork until well coated.
