My boy Sam loves parties and sweets. Whenever he sees me pulling out decorations or baking supplies, Im sure to hear an enthusiastic oh boy, yeah mommy! He is ready to help with any idea that is connected in any way to a party theme. His dad not so much except for helping with quality control of the dessert table! I tried this Oreo Truffle recipe from allrecipes.com and everybody wanted to help and I wasnt sure I wanted to share! Theyre that good!

Thanks to Kim, from TomKat Studio, for offering these free, printable recipe cards and labels for the Oreo Truffles. Theyre really cute! Theres a red and white background and a sweet, little house with a heart door on a green central medallion; it looks very Christmas-y.
Print the cards and labels; make up a batch of truffles and keep them in your fridge or freezer. They would make nice holiday treat favors to give when you pop over to a friends house for sharing some Christmas cheerif you can keep from eating them all yourself! Including the recipe and the truffles in a small gift bag with the label makes a polished looking little gift right from your heart.
Oh, maybe it was just me, but I had a little bit of trouble with dipping the balls in the melted chocolate. I did end up using a pickle fork for spearing and dipping them and that helped. At first I just used my fingers but then I had to keep licking them to get all the chocolate off. Then I had to wash my hands of course. It kinda slowed down the entire process but those are the sacrifices a mom is called to make!
Ive since read that after you form the balls you should put them in the fridge for a bit. This is supposed to help them hold their shape and make the dipping in chocolate easier but then you wouldnt get to lick your fingers!
