You’ll need:

  • 5 large oranges
  • 1 (17.5-ounce) container of Grands! Cinnamon rolls with icing

Substitutions And Additions

CINNAMON ROLLS: If you cannot find the Grands! Cinnamon rolls for these campfire oranges, you can use smaller oranges and the smaller size container of regular cinnamon rolls.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: Add chocolate chips along with the cinnamon rolls inside of the orange for a little bit of chocolatey goodness.

How To Make This Campfire Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

STEP TWO: Use a spoon to scrape out the orange fruit. Be careful not to pierce through the orange skin.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

You can save the scooped orange fruit and serve it with a canned fruit cocktail. That will make good use of the discarded fruit center.

STEP FOUR: You can either place oranges in a disposable baking dish and cover them with tin foil or wrap each individual orange tightly in aluminum foil. Either alternative will give you the same delicious results.

STEP FIVE: Arrange the oranges over indirect heat over the hot coals of your fire. Cook for 40 to 45 minutes, checking at around 35 minutes, until the cinnamon rolls are fluffy and cooked through.

Remove from the heat and frost with the icing included with the cinnamon rolls. Serve in the orange while hot.

PRO TIP:

Remember that anything cooked over the open flame will be hot when removed. Cook with care!
