Ready. Aim. Fire! Stay on target with these budget friendly, laser tag, boy’s 7th birthday party ideas submitted by DIYer mom, Simone Porthouse.
A laser tag birthday party for your little sharp shooter doesn’t have to break the bank. With a little elbow grease and some ingenuity, Simone and her husband really hit the mark with their handmade party favors and decorations, cool party games as well as the birthday cake and party food.
Limiting their color scheme to the earthy tones found in traditional camouflage allowed them to mix and match shades of green, black and brown to achieve an outdoorsy look and feel, perfect for an adventure filled, laser tag course for their son, Jack.

Being budget savvy doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice on theme specific details, fun or style.
Simone & her husband splurged on renting laser tag guns from a laser tag company (still much cheaper than purchasing them), but opted to set up their own backyard course to save additional funds for some of the materials needed for their DIY party favors.
By limiting their guest list, they were able to focus in on favors that were a real hit.
Custom stamped dog tags {75c each}, camouflage embellished t-shirts {less than $5 each}, and glass jars filled with army men, were all made at great savings, but really enriched the laser tag vibe.
A couple of carefully chosen camo items were purchased to help complement the DIY favor items and fill in the “supply” table for the little recruits.
Bullseye! Simone really hit the mark on her clever dessert choices and rustic table display. Army men protected “dirt cups” & a dog tag cake.
Creative food labels turned ordinary Whoppers into “cannon balls”, licorice into “rescue ropes” and cylinder shaped candy into “bullets”.
I love that some healthy options (fruit) were also included for hungry snipers.
A recycled pallet, camouflage pennant garland and astro turf added inexpensive details that really aimed to please.
With the highlight of the party focusing on the backyard laser tag course, other activities were appropriately streamlined and included “pass the parcel” and a “guess the number of army men” in the jar game.
I’m sure guests were fired up about all of the fun details of this DIY laser tag party!
