Review RecipeBright and Colorful Kids Thanksgiving Party

Boys, girls, color, party even the sound of those words conjures ideas of joy and laughter, doesn’t it? When she saw Love the Day’s Thanksgiving printables, Jennifer, of Double Fun Parties, imagined a children’s Thanksgiving guest and dessert table filled with color. She gathered decoration supplies and built a Thanksgiving themed celebration doing that very thing.

A white tablecloth with a plum topper is the foundation for this Thanksgiving table. The more typical browns and oranges are not left out but using plum with additions of cranberry red, yellow and bright green give the table a delightful glow.
Jennifer used green placemats she already had, but suggests that scrapbook paper would work, too. Yellow melamine plates and orange napkins bring a sunny glow to the arrangement and a fresh blossom at each place is another great pop of color.
I chuckled when I saw the cute centerpiece turkey. He looks an awful lot like Bob the Tomato, with feathers and a hat!
Coordinating place cards look festive; each place setting is also topped with a colorful leaf lollipop (which I’m sure wouldn’t be eaten until the vegetables were gone!). Small-fry sized canning jars with stripped straws and real ribbon flags add to tablescape festivity.
Personal sized orange and white envelopes hold thankful cards and washable markers are at each place, too. After writing their sentiments of gratitude, young guests can use miniature wooden clothespins to attach their cards to chair back ribbon swags. I’ve been noticing more moms seem to be encouraging attitudes of gratitude in their families this year.

Waiting to be filled with extra take-home treats are favor boxes from Shop Sweet Lulu, topped with a variety of medallions from the Love the Day collection. Jennifer’s daughters made the extra embellishments of rainbow colored bracelets.
Jennifer has prepared an enticing dessert table using simple white serving pieces teamed with colorful printables. The argyle pattern (love it!), stripes and solids are combined in the fanciful “Give Thanks” banner, and the garland that fronts the table. The kaleidoscopic ribbon wreath by Sweet Georgia Sweet is another wonderful burst of fun color.
I appreciate how Jennifer topped her mini pumpkin pies with more of those delicious looking chocolate leaves from The Frosted Petticoat; it’s another effective tie-in with the table place settings. Using the mini garland to top the apple cake and medallions to decorate the caramel bars is another terrific way to bring color to the dessert table.
