Review RecipeBoy’s Hot Air Balloon Birthday Party
Table of Contents
Baby Mathias’ vintage-style hot air balloon birthday party was organized by his talented mom, Meredith, who entrusted her theme choice to the artful Yolanda, at Kiss With Style.
This little boy birthday party venue was inside a gorgeous marquee at the Amora Riverwalk in Melbourne, Australia, so the beautiful tented area was a perfect party setting already, but Yolanda’s engaging decoration ideas on the beautiful dessert table enhanced the entire affair. Flowers, balloons, birthday cake, cupcakes, special take-home favors, music, party games –what a party!

The party invitation was delivered to the old-style postage box. That’s a witty way to personalize the party even more. The brown paper packages were tied up with string and stamped with images of postmarks, postmen, and airplanes — so cute!

Because of the connotation of going places in life, the “Up, Up and Away” theme is a popular choice for little ones.
It was especially meaningful for this party because the gathering encompassed the dual celebration of a first birthday and the christening of baby Mathias.
The tent ceiling was filled with white balloon clouds, plus an assortment of hot air balloons, which were included throughout the venue.
Fresh hydrangeas and baby’s breath were the flowers of choice and they appear throughout the space.
Jazz musicians added their gift to the ambiance and guests had fun posing in a photo booth.
I love how Yolanda chooses just the right elements to convey a theme message! Note the birthday banner that fronts the table; each square references a letter and postmark.
The dessert table built on the feeling of fresh beginnings, starting with the lovely light blue sky and cloud backdrop, a stylized central tree, hints of daisies growing in green grass and picket fences.
The party printables capture the essence of voyaging with the postmark graphic, and when it is paired with the hot air balloon images, it’s perfect for this theme.
Enticing desserts look impeccable in the theme colors of blue and white.
I’m sure guests were delighted with the balloon details and mounds of sky blue and cloud white frostings on the cupcakes and cake pops.
Some of the cookies even look like envelopes and clouds!
