Unique Football Party Food Appetizers

By  |

Our family recently went on a cruise. It was fabulous! At first I thought I’d get a ton of work done but the internet connection wasn’t great unless we were in port. It was even more of a break from work than I planned. Not complaining!  Have you ever heard people rave about all the food there is on a cruise? It’s all true. These foodies rejoiced! A girl could get spoiled…

Unique Football Party Food Appetizers

Mike and I love Asian food. One of our favorite restaurants here at home serves authentic Asian cuisine, but you can’t always go out every time you’re hungry for that taste. Especially with the cooler fall weather, I’m content to hang out more in my own kitchen. I discovered an authentic taste in the Ling Ling® Asian Kitchen brand that makes it possible to “take a taste adventure” right at home. No cruise ship necessary!

Ling Ling Pot Stickers

Ling Ling® makes flavorful potstickers and spring rolls (egg rolls, too) that have a homemade quality. The recipes are actually based on authentic recipes from a Taiwanese family who has been cooking flavorful Asian food in their San Francisco restaurant for over 30 years. Their frozen potstickers flavors include Chicken and Vegetable, Pork and Vegetable or Vegetable. They’re quick and really versatile; just follow the package directions. You can build an entire meal around any of the flavors, or use them in soups, salads or as appetizers.

Appetizer Ideas for Football Party

One of my favorite things to do is come up with new party food ideas to share when our friends come over. I used the Ling Ling® Chicken and Vegetable Potstickers as the centerpiece taste, along with Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls, to create a simple and delicious party platter. Everybody liked it so I know I’ll be including it in some of our upcoming holiday gatherings too. Orange Hoisin Sauce was the perfect accompaniment. It’s a sweet and spicy, tangy, rich taste.

Orange Hoisin Recipe

  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • Zest and juice from one orange
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger root
  • Mix all ingredients until well blended.

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
