Do your ears ever get tired? Mine do. Sometimes I crave peace and total quiet.

Peaches & Cream Cookie Cups #SipYourSummer

People seem to think that because Sam is an only that we live a quiet life. Not so—particularly in the summer when we’re home more. Because my house isn’t always squirming with kids, Sam needs someone to talk to. Usually that would be me—and I’m fine with that—but sometimes I need quiet to recharge. I don’t know about you, but yelling “take me away” and heading for the bathtub isn’t likely to happen in the middle of the day at my house. However, I have learned to carve out “me moments” right at home.

Peach Tea Snapple

One-on-one focus fills his tank so if Sam and I have quality time doing something fun, then we can both get busy with our own agendas for a while. My best strategy starts in the kitchen. We might make something like these Peaches and Cream Cookie Cups. Sam is a super little helper and taste-tester extraordinaire!

When we’ve finished visiting, baking, and tasting, usually Sam is satisfied to busy himself with his favored toy-of-the-moment. That’s when I clutch my glass of Snapple tea and sink into my highly valued chaise. I know there won’t be a long enough stretch to read a book and when I want to recharge I purposefully avoid reading on my device. However, a favorite beverage and a favorite magazine can transport me to Someplace Else almost immediately. A glass of Snapple and a few minutes in that alternate universe does a world of wonders!

Snapple Tea at Walmart

You can find the Snapple Teas at Walmart. They are offering 18.5 ounce Straight Up Tea and Premium Glass items on Rollback for just a $1.00 in-store, beginning on June 3rd. Another benefit of shopping at Walmart on a hot, humid day? It’s gloriously air-conditioned and comfortably cool. You can dawdle down the aisles and fill your cart with all kinds of needful things. You love Walmart. Walmart will love you!

He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots.
