This summer, Sam and I have enjoyed experimenting together in the kitchen. Now that he’s five, he’s turned into quite the little helper. It’s lots of fun to hear his creative ideas on how we can change up our usual favorites.
(I’m all about this Pineapple Dessert: Pina Colada Split as well! So good!)
Last weekend, Mike, Sam and I headed out to our new back patio to grill dinner. Sam had requested S’Mores for dessert…. and I was happy to oblige! While we were getting ready, I asked Sam what we could do to change up our traditional S’Mores. He suggested fruit and whip cream. I thought it sounded like a delicious idea and thus our dessert was born.
- graham crackers
- chocolate bars
- fresh, sliced pineapple
- Gay Lea Whip Cream
- Cut your sliced pineapple into small pieces, the size of your graham cracker portion.
- Grill pineapple for 1-2 minutes on each side until warm.
- Take graham cracker piece and layer on chocolate bar Top with grilled pineapple and add a dollop of Gay Lea Whip Cream.
I loved trading out marshmallows for the amazing flavor and texture of fresh whip cream. I thought this dessert perfectly captured the flavors of summer. It makes me feel great to know I’m serving high quality products to my family and friends, as well as supporting a brand I love.
