Party Food: Greek Pull Apart Bread

By  | Last Updated:

Because I live so far from my hometown, I’ve practically spent more holidays away from my family than I have with them. It started when I was 18, in my first year of university, and I spent Thanksgiving in a dorm room. Over the years, I have learned to easily adjust to situations to ensure that no matter where I am in the world or who I am with during the holidays, I make the most of it.

Instead of letting the blues steal Christmas, Mike and I have made it a tradition to surround ourselves with friends we love. From hosting dinners, parties and potlucks, together, we’ve had the best times — especially since Sam has been born. There’s always great company, lots of laughter and TOO MUCH FOOD. Afternoons easily melt into evening as we have lingered over left-overs and conversation.

Mezzetta Olives

I’m already planning my menus for this year. It’s inherently bred in my family that we honor our guests with great food and drink. This year, one of the appetizers I am going to be offering up is a “Greek” cheese and olive-stuffed pull-apart bread. It’s a simple recipe that tastes amazing!

When I make my Greek pull-apart bread, I always choose favorite cheeses and olives so it has a satisfying, robust flavor. Warm bread, melted cheddar, salty feta and the piquant olive oomph is a delicious meal accompaniment or a scrumptious appetizer. I choose Mezzetta Olives for their full flavor.

I love the Mezzetta story. The current fourth generation Mezzetta family continues to source fresh produce from California, Italy, Spain, France and Greece to prepare their Italian family recipes in Napa Valley. It’s reassuring that they are committed to bringing customers quality foods—for everyday meals and holiday specials.

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
