Nutter Butter Ghosts and Bats

October is a busy month for most families, so easy hacks to make store bought cookies spooky and fun are always a good idea.

If you’re a bit too busy for from-scratch cookies but want to give your kids a ghoulish treat, you’ll love these Nutter Butter Ghosts & Bats!

Halloween is hands down my favourite holiday, and I love making special treats for my daughter to enjoy the holiday with me – but as a parent it’s also become one of the busiest seasons!

When I have time, I love putting together spooky lunch boxes or making our easy ghost meringues, but having an easy hack like these delicious Nutter Butter Ghosts & Bats is perfect for last minute party invites, classroom snacks, or just a cute addition to your child’s lunch box.

Ingredients to Make Nutter Butter Halloween Cookies

  •  Nutter Butter Cookies
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • 1 cup black candy melts
  • candy eyes (2 for each cookie)
  • black licorice candies (2 for every bat)
  • 2 Tablespoons shortening

Start off by melting the white candy melts with 1 Tablespoon shortening.

Dip the top half of the ghost cookies into the candy melts, using a spoon to help ensure even coating.

While the candy melts are still wet, attach the candy eyes and allow to set.

Once half of the cookies have been transformed into ghosts, it’s time to make some bats!

Melt the black candy melts with the remaining tablespoon of shortening and dip your Nutter Butter Cookies in the melts.

Attach two licorice candies for bat ears and two candy eyes.

Allow to dry, about 30 minutes.

    These are so cute it’s scary! So simple to make and kids will gobble them up!
