New Year’s Eve Entertaining Ideas

By  |

Even though I was looking forward to Thanksgiving and now Christmas, I’m getting very excited to celebrate New Year’s Eve. We are planning to have a game night at home with friends, including several of our kids. I know it will be a great evening! I’m already planning our decor. I have tested out a couple of new recipes as well so that the evening goes off without a hitch. Use these easy ideas to make sure your New Year’s Eve celebration is extra special as well.

Creating a main table for your party can be easy. I added height to the table by wrapping a foam topiary in sparkling, multi-color garland. I kept the table top simple, using the same garland to snake around the table. The back drop and mini cups were both in chevon but I did a dark blue for the backdrop and a lime green for the mini cups.

On the back drop, I made two large, glitter numbers to celebrate 2015. I used two canvases and print out numbers, which I traced onto glitter paper and then glued onto the canvas. You can download the numbers if you would like to print them to make this fun back drop.

To give our cupcakes some extra pizzazz, I created fun toppers. They were simple to create by snipping little bits of garland and gluing them to bamboo skewers. I love how festive they turned out. The vanilla cupcakes topped with white frosting and shaved pieces of white chocolate were as delicious as they were beautiful.

I spent quite a bit of time online researching recipes to pick the perfect items to serve. I found lots of inspiration on the Nabisco Pinterest page. I love that their recipes look incredible, taste amazing and are simple to create. For our New Year’s Eve party, we decided to stick with simple appetizer ideas that would be easy to serve and eat while visiting and playing games.

This Apple Dip Recipe is delicious. Since we had a test run, I’m looking forward to eating this again soon. To serve, I put Wheat Thins in individual cups for easy serving.

We also offered candy in little cups. I love how the little candies add additional pops of color on the table.

We also served Cranberry & Sage Appetizers — so delicious and simple! I love the colors together as well.

I can’t wait for our New Year’s Eve celebration. I hope you are feeling inspired now as well!
