How to Make Silly Sandwiches #LunchboxCreations

By  | Last Updated:

You’re busy. I get that. Either your kids have just started back to school or else they will begin this week. You’re packing lunches or trying to think of lunch ideas to keep them fueled for their busy days.  It’s likely you’ve spent a bundle on clothes, shoes, new supplies (and possibly electronics) for school. That should mean you’d like to recoup some of those expenses. Here’s a fun way to possibly do it: win one of four $250 gift cards. Nature’s Own Bread is hosting a lunchbox creations contest. All you have to do is create a lunchbox sandwich masterpiece, then submit a photo or video of your idea.

I made a silly little bird sandwich with Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread. It’s a taste the whole family can enjoy. Besides offering soft Honey Wheat, Butterbread and 100% Whole Wheat varieties, Nature’s Own Bread has no artificial preservatives, flavors or colors and they do not use fructose corn syrup. That’s something to tweet about!

Cool sandwich ideas for kids

For my sandwich, I first cut the crust edges off and layered ham and cheese on the inside of the sandwich. Then, I added a couple more slices of ham on the top for the bird. A small flower shaped cookie cutter and Harvarti cheese worked for the eye area. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter and cheddar cheese for wings and the beak. A dab of mayonnaise makes edible “glue” for the candy eyes.

You’re going to be making lunches anyway—why not take a moment to photograph or video your creation? You might win a $250 gift card. You might inspire other moms. For sure your own kids will have fun discovering what’s in their lunchbox.
