I love creating amusing kid’s party food that Sam will love even before he tastes it. Especially during the holiday season, there are so many unique treat ideas that are sure to wow your guests, both young and old. These snowman treats are fun to create and offer a delicious flavor combination everyone can appreciate. The honeycomb dip is out of this world as well, not to mention so gorgeous on a plate!

Snowman Appetizers with Honeycomb Dip

Filling Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of cranberry and nuts trail mix
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

  1. Chop trail mix into fine pieces — the smaller the better as we are going to be skewering the snowmen.
  2. Put in small frying pan on low heat and drizzle with honey.
  3. Heat approximately 10 minutes, stirring regularly.
  4. Remove from heat, then handle once cooled to touch.

Snowman Ingredients

  • 1 block goat cheese {our block is 10 ounces}
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 baby carrotts
  • 8 small radishes
  • 8 kabob skewers

  1. Thoroughly mix honey and goat cheese.
  2. Create small balls of varying sizes for the bottom, middle and head of snowmen.
  3. Use your thumb to create an impression and fill with prepared trail mix.
  4. Cover and firmly roll into a ball.
  5. Place balls on cookie sheet and transfer to fridge until set.
  6. Skewer the “snow” balls – if they break apart going through trail mix just press back together.
  7. Cut tops of radishes to create hats.
  8. Cut slivers off carrots to create noses.
  9. Enjoy!

Snowman Appetizer

Our family enjoyed this tasty treat together while playing a board game. Sam was delighted with the little snowmen. He was even more in love once he tasted them. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory. I love that you could serve them at a party and all the guests would enjoy them. The mama in me is also thrilled that they are a healthy party treat option that isn’t packed with sugar. Win-win in my book!

Don Victor Whipped Honey

I used Don Victor Honey for this recipe. It’s made in the USA and can be found in the Hispanic food aisle at Walmart. I am a big fan of their products. They offer a variety of delicious honey products, including the honeycomb jarred honey I used in this recipe. It’s an affordable way to add a big flavor in your party food creations this winter. I also love their Whipped Honey. It comes in three varieties: Cinnamon, Chocolate and Caramel. The flavors are amazing — perfect to spread on toast or use in a recipe.
