Now that Sam is a little older, I adore family game night. He’s almost six and our family nights have evolved from reading stories to Sam when he was little to busy and fun events for the three of us. Our current game nights are what I always imagined they would be someday. I serve a fun snack, which Sam loves to help make. While we munch, we enjoy a fun game together. Sometimes Sam teams up with Mike or I and other times he’s able to play alone.

Games at Walmart

M & M at Walmart

Last weekend, while shopping at Walmart, I noticed the special Hasbro® game display in the aisle. It was the perfect chance to pick up Jenga and Classic Monopoly for us to enjoy together. I also picked up another favorite: M&M’s® Pretzel. I decided to make fudge — a sure fire hit! Since it’s quick and easy to make, it’s the perfect solution if you have last minute guests joining your game night.

Family Game Night with Jenga

Pretzel Fudge Recipe

M&M’s® Pretzel Fudge

  • 3 cups high quality white chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 Cup crushed M&M’s® Pretzels
  • Mini Pretzels to top fudge

  1. Melt chocolate chips on low heat, stirring regularly.
  2. Gradually stir in sweetened condensed milk (if chips start to harden, reheat and stir).
  3. Cool slightly and mix in M&M’s®.
  4. Pour into 8×8 pan.
  5. Top with mini pretzels in a grid pattern.

How to Crush M&M Pretzel

Tip = because M&M’s® Pretzels are round, use a knife and crush them rather than trying to chop.

Classic Monopoly

Classic Jenga

It was the first time that Sam had played Jenga — and he loved it! We had a great time talking about our days, giggling while playing the game and enjoying our treat. I love making memories together as a family. Family game night is a favorite!

Stephanie Keeping

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it’s okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
