Edible Holiday Gift Ideas

By  | Last Updated:

I’ve partnered with Frito Lay in this sponsored campaign but all of the party & snacking tips are our own.

Do you keep your cupboards stocked with goodies during the holidays? I do a lot of baking and creating during the season but I also like to have specialty snacks on hand. Mike and I tend to indulge ourselves a little more during the holiday, but I really like keeping a stash of treats for drop-in friends, too. That way I can easily put together an impromptu spread without a lot of hassle or I can tuck goodies in as fillers in a gift basket.

Fun Edible Gift Ideas for Christmas

One of the ways to make hosting holiday parties easier, whether impromptu or planned, is to include ready-made snacks. In my book, a satisfying snack and dessert table includes sweet and salty nibbles. Frito-Lay has it covered with their ROLD GOLD® Peppermint Dipped Pretzels and ROLD GOLD® Classic Dipped Pretzels. Include Holiday CHEETOS®, Sweetos® and CRACKER JACK® Sugar Cookies and you’ve already got a party going on—all you have to do is open the packages and you’ve got festive fun for everyone!

If you have a little extra time, you might want to try my recipe for chocolate bark. I have a couple of versions and I think they’re both perfect for the holiday. Use limited time ROLD GOLD® Pretzels and the bark comes together quickly. Pop the bark into a cute box and you have a sweet surprise, ready for gifting.

Amounts to be used are totally flexible, depending on how much bark you’re making. These recipes are not an exact science!

  • ROLD GOLD® Classic Dipped Pretzels
  • Red, green, white candy corn
  • Miniature candy holly berries and leaves

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Melt dark chocolate (I used the microwave, melt in 20-30 second increments; check at 20 second intervals; stir vigorously in between).
  3. Add desired amount of coarse sugar.
  4. Use a spoon to spread melted chocolate mix to desired thickness on baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle candy snowflakes on top.
  6. Lightly press peppermint dipped pretzels onto chocolate mix surface.
  7. Put it in refrigerator to quickly harden. Break into pieces and serve. Mmm.

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Melt dark and white chocolate in separate bowls (using same method as above).
  3. Spread white chocolate on baking sheet.
  4. Drop 6 spoonfuls of dark chocolate, spaced evenly, over the white chocolate.
  5. Use a bamboo skewer and swirl the chocolates in a circular motion.
  6. Lightly press pretzels onto chocolate combo. Add candy corn and candy holly embellishments.
